Why This Unique Couple Chose THE 101 for Their Wedding

January 23, 2024

Riley and Alex worked with THE 101 Planning to create a wedding day as unique as their love.

The couple has two daughters who were also very involved in the wedding day. Overall, everyone wanted the day to be super fun and special!

THE 101 Planner, Alison, designed a ‘Sunset Romance’ themed mood board, complete with various shades of reds and oranges, paired with bright whites and other colorful accents. The color scheme really popped against THE 101’s white and red brick walls!

Once they were both ready, the couple and their families took photos all around Pioneer Square and in the alley next to THE 101, taking advantage of the gorgeous November day!

The ceremony was set up with draping and beautiful gold backdrop adorned with colorful flowers in a corner against THE 101’s white brick walls. A good friend of Alex’s served as their officiant, and both Riley and Alex’s brothers walked down the aisle. The four flower girls also ensured the couple had a petal-covered aisle!

After the ceremony, the space was flipped for the reception and the beautiful ceremony arch was repurposed as the photo booth backdrop.

For dinner, Riley and Alex stuck with the fun theme and had Rocket Taco cater a taco buffet. Guests loved the delicious and casual food!

To make sure all the kids were entertained, a kids corner was set up with crafts and activities. Many of the kids also joined in on the dance party, and had the best time!

Riley and Alex felt ‘the more the merrier’ in terms of their reception, so some extra guests were invited for the dance party portion of the reception!

During the dance party, the couple incorporated a “twerking through the decades” contest, opted for a t-shirt toss versus a bouquet/garter toss, and had two drag queen performances! These events were such a great testament to the fun-loving couple, and unique twists on traditions!

Guests were reenergized with fresh churros for dessert, and a late-night cereal bar!
