Love, tradition, and personal touches came together beautifully for Joanna and Keivaun’s December wedding at THE 101 in Seattle. With the help of 828 Planning, their planner Ally, helped create a special day showcasing the couple’s cultural heritage, artistic creativity, and deep love for the outdoors.
Thoughtful Details & Personal Touches
Joanna and Keivaun are an adventurous, outdoorsy couple, and their wedding was a reflection of their unique personalities. One of the most remarkable details was Joanna’s wedding dress—handmade by the bride herself! Every stitch was a testament to her creativity and dedication, making her walk down the aisle even more meaningful.
The couple also took a hands-on approach to their décor, 3D-printing all the vases for their floral arrangements. These vases, placed on reception tables, cocktail tables, and the welcome table, held beautiful dried florals arranged by Joanna, Keivaun, and their friends. Their dedication to crafting an experience that felt uniquely them was evident in every corner of the venue.
A Stunning Sofreh and a Personal Touch on the Lounge
One of the most breathtaking elements of the day was the Sofreh setup, carefully designed by the groom’s mother. This Persian wedding tradition added a rich cultural element to their ceremony, symbolizing love, prosperity, and unity.
For the ceremony, a gorgeous trellis from Vintage Ambiance set the stage for their heartfelt vows. The lounge area, also curated with pieces from Vintage Ambiance, was made even more special with lamps that the couple brought in themselves. The warm, inviting glow created a cozy, intimate atmosphere for guests to relax and celebrate.
A Night of Celebration and Dance
The reception at THE 101 was nothing short of electric. The celebration carried on late into the night, fueled by music from a mix of professional and personal talent—one of their friends took over a portion of the DJ set, adding a fun, personal touch to the soundtrack of their evening.
Adding to the cultural significance of the night, Joanna and Keivaun, along with their friends, performed a choreographed Sangeeta dance, blending movement and music into a vibrant, joyous expression of their love story.
Their photographer captured the magic not only through digital images but also with film photography, giving their wedding album a timeless, nostalgic feel. The film photos tell the story of their day in a way that’s both modern and classic.
